Arne Jensen (1920-2008)

Professor Arne Jensen was the key person behind the creation of the International Teletraffic Congress in 1955, which he chaired from 1955 until 1991.

Arne was born on February 16, 1920 in Vordingborg, Denmark, and he became a Master of Insurance Science and Statististics in 1944. He joined then the Copenhagen Telephone Company. In 1948, together with E. Brockmeyer and H.L. Halstrøm, he completed the book on Erlang's achievements: "The Life and works of A.K. Erlang".

From 1962, he had been a Professor at the Technical University of Denmark in Statistics and Operations Research.

Arne Jensen died on November 11, 2008.

Arne Jensen was Emeritus Chairman of the International Advisory Council of ITC.
